Another ratio - this maths question has confused me also!?

The famous actor Sullivan Ellis, took his gold Toscar award and melted it down to make 27 similar awards. The miniature versions were 12cm high. How tall was the original? Does this involve ratio - because it is in the ratio section of my textbook
