Help me with my long distance relationship?

It's been 2 weeks and the heartache is just killing me. I feel like I need to talk to her constantly. We can only see each other every 6 months for the next couple years, and I miss her so much. I trust her 100% to not cheat. I know she won't and she is definatly worth the stress and heartache. I just want to know if these kinds of relationships last long? Or do they usually end pretty quick? Is there a way to ease the heartache?
